Exciting C2E2 news!

I am super excited to be going to a new comic convention in Chicago this year. If you didn't know already, last year the convention we went to in Chicago was a pretty big disappointment. We paid for V.I.P passes and there was really nothing V.I.P about it. The staff was completely unorganized, "V.I.P signings" weren't exclusive to the V.I.P they were opened for everyone, they messed up our packages and we weren't even allowed to enter the convention early. DC and Marvel didn't attend as they had in years past and with out those two major companies in attendance, can you really call it a comic convention? The only redeeming quality about the convention was that I was able to meet Emma Caufield, she plays Anya on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While we still had fun with the group of people that went up there, it just wasn't the same as it had been in years past.

While there we received information about this new convention in Chicago called C2E2. I believe this will be the first con they have held in Chicago but they have held many conventions in New York. **edit** C2E2 is operated by Reed Exhibitions, the world's largest event organizer. Reed also runs the New York Comic Con, New York Anime Festival, BookExpo America, the London Book Fair, the Tokyo International Book Fair, and MIPCOM. Reed's publishing branch is responsible for magazines including Variety, Publishers Weekly, Video Business, and Playthings.**

As with all new things I am a little skeptical as to how this convention is going to turn out but I have decided to ignore that skepticism and I am actually volunteering to work this convention. Hopefully I will be able to get some behind the scenes info, maybe a few guest interviews,(crosses fingers) and overall have a great time. If you aren't subscribed to the newsletter for this convention you should be, they are sending exciting updates all the time! If you are one of those people who just don't like receiving constant emails, I will be posting all the most exciting details right here on Confessions every day as soon as I am informed.

The first bit of exciting news is that
Lance Fensterman (who is the show manager for this convention) has "been in California for the past two weeks working on the final touches to make this one of the greatest conventions to date." Over the next month the great people of C2E2 will be announcing 40 special guests announcements. From what was written they are practically bursting at the seams to tell us but sadly we shall have to wait with bated breath until next week! Now don't get overly excited, they have decided that they won't unveil everyone right away, they are teasing us every week for a month! However, like anything worth having, it should never be that easy! Something to look forward to with the long winter days ahead!

On that final note, I will leave you with this awesome picture by our artist of the month Peng Peng. She is so talented and takes commissions all the time! You need to check her out on peng-peng.deviantart.com! It's Kara, a.k.a Super Girl! She is so cute! Thanks P for your amazing stuff!
